WoodenCrew Backup Privacy Policy

WoodenCrew Backup Privacy Policy

Updated October 5, 2026. This policy covers the private WoodenCrew Backup utility used by the WoodenCrew store owner.

Google Drive access and use

The utility requests the Google Drive OAuth permission to read, create, modify and delete Drive files. This Google permission applies to the account's Drive; the backup script is configured to operate only inside the owner's designated Shopify Backups folder.

The script uses file names, identifiers, sizes, checksums and other file metadata to upload and verify Shopify backup archives, list managed backups and retain ten current archives. Older managed archives are moved to Drive Trash only after a new archive is verified. Unrelated files are excluded from rotation. The utility does not search or use unrelated Drive documents.

Storage and recipients

Backup archives are stored in the owner's Google Drive. OAuth credentials and the refresh token are stored in encrypted GitHub Actions Secrets in the owner's private repository. GitHub-hosted workflow runners process the backup and access Drive using these credentials. People with sufficient repository or account access may be able to use the credentials; the owner controls that access.

The utility does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, transfer it to data brokers, or use it to train AI models. Google user data is used only to operate and maintain the backup functionality described here. Its use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Retention and control

Ten current managed archives are retained in the backup folder. Items moved to Drive Trash remain subject to Google's normal trash retention and recovery rules. The owner can delete backup archives through Drive, remove credentials through GitHub Secrets and revoke the application's Google access through Google Account permissions. Stopping scheduled runs does not itself delete existing backups.

The utility is not open to customers or other users. For maintenance or privacy questions, contact the WoodenCrew store owner through the store's published contact channel.
